This hotel lies literally in the heart of Fell's Point in Baltimore's downtown historic district. That's both good and bad. Good, in that you have a lot of boutique shops to explore, and taverns to choose from. One of the latter I patronized, the Alexander Tavern, served up some very tasty Maryland Vegetable Crab Soup. You will find at night the police make a show of force. That's clearly because things can get a little rowdy. But the police presence reduces the nighttime threat level to "Acceptable For Adults." Daytime seemed perfectly fine, but still for adults only as its almost impossible not to run across someone who is not carrying portable music blaring out profanity laden lyrics. My room at The William Fell was of standard size, not overly big but comfy, very clean, with a nice bathroom and extremely comfortable beds. That was a good thing because although I selected for heat (it was in the 50s outside), I could only detect it on one time in the early morning. There was maid service every day, which I appreciated. The connected restaurant, The William Fell Tavern, served up tasty food at a not too exorbitant a price, but ran out of crab (in Maryland!) halfway through my stay, which was a disappointment. The background music for the tavern is also piped into the Lobby. This resulted in raucous music quite out of character with the dignity of the hotel. I think their soundtracks should be separate. All in all, The William Fell is a nice place to hang your hat while visiting Baltimore, particularly if your focus is on their downtown attractions.

The absolute best spot in Fells Point to stay. Rooms are very nice, the location is awesome and the service is fantastic. I can't forget the Anchor Bar, it has the best bartender in Fells.

Exquisite hotel directly in the center of it all. Farmers market on Saturdays right out front. Great staff and super high end finishes and decorations. Longest standing bar tender makes amazing drinks in the basement. Or check out the tavern on the first floor for some apps and beverages. Staff is super friendly and the gym is brand new

This hotel is beautiful and the staff as so helpful! It pays homage to the historic building while providing modern amenities. And the staff go above and beyond to make your stay as relaxing as possible. There was a lot of unexpected outside noise due to the cycling race staff putting up metal barricades starting at 3am early Saturday morning that was not at all the hotel’s fault. Kimberly seamlessly transfer me to a quieter room early in the morning so I could get some more sleep without needing to wait for another room later in the day while staying in Baltimore. Thank you so much Kimberly for helping make my stay as enjoyable as possible!

Very nice place, historical building with nice upgrades. The bed was pretty firm, so if you're used to that and like it, you will sleep great. The door to our bathroom was warped and wouldn't close all the way, but it wasn't a huge deal for us. The beds had white sheets that were nice, both on top of the cover and under it, so there was no feeling of skeeviness about germs. The people in the front desk areas were very helpful and friendly. The valet price was pretty steep, but there was no other real option for parking and everything we wanted to go to was walkable so it worked out fine.
